Etymology

An invented Indian-sounding given name from the meme “Pajeet, my son”, a derivation of “Mehmet, my son”, that circulated on the 4chan message boards /pol/, /bant/ and /int/ from late 2013 in relation to ongoing mockery of Indians' propensity for open-air defecation. The term has since acquired wider online usage.

The name doesn't exist in South Asia though similar-sounding names exist, most notably in the Indian state of Punjab. Specifically, it was possibly derived from Punjabi ਭਾਜੀ (bhājī, male term of address) / بھاجی (bhājī) or ਭਤੀਜਾ (bhatījā, brother's son, friendly term of address) / بَھتِیجا (bhatījā). The “-jeet” part was derived from Indian male names ending with the suffix Hindi जीत (jīt, victory) like Sanjeet.

You used to be able to e-mail some Amazon representative and get your account deleted maybe; you can’t do that anymore, what you have to do nowadays is you either have to live-chat with a pajeet or you have to manually call them.
