From Middle Low German vrōkost (early meal), from vrō (early) + kost (meal). The Scandinavian cognates have the meaning "breakfast": Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value) and Swedish frukost.
