Etymology
From Proto-Anatolian *no-nu, derived from *nu (compare Hittite 𒉡 (nu, “now”)), from Proto-Indo-European *nu (“now”). Compare Ancient Greek νῦν (nûn), Proto-Slavic *nyně (e.g. Old Church Slavonic нꙑнѣ (nyně)), Lithuanian nūnaĩ (“now, today”) and Sanskrit नूनम् (nūnám, “now”).
