Possibly from ꦭꦶꦩ (lima, five) by analogy of trunk as a "fifth appendage" or its hand-like grasping function either from Indic influence (see formation of Sanskrit हस्तिन् (hastin)) or native observation;[1] see also relationship of Jarai rơman and rơma, Rade êman and êma.
