Reborrowed from Thai พวง (puuang), itself from Old Khmer ប្វង (pvaṅa), បូង (pūṅa, “mass, cluster; whole, all”), from Proto-Mon-Khmer *buəŋ (“bunch, collection”). Cognates include the doublet ពួង (puəng, “all”), Vietnamese buồng (“bunch”).
