Attack on Pearl Harbor

As conflict grew in Europe and Asia, American foreign policy evolved (slowly changed) from neutrality to direct involvement.

II. The U.S. enters WWII (direct involvement)

Rising tension developed between the US and Japan, because of Japanese aggression in Eat Asia. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked the US at Pearl Harbor without warning. The US declared war on Japan. Germany declared war on the US.
