< Mi'kmaq language
The main dialect of Mi'kmaq is the one spoken in Nova Scotia. It uses the Francis-Smith orthography. It is also the one used by the Mi'kmaq Grand Council. The second important dialect is the Listuguj dialect spoken by the Mi'kmaq people of Quebec.
Listuguj
The Listuguj dialect, also called Restigouche, is from the Gaspé Peninsula in Eastern Quebec. It uses the orthography of the same name (see Chapter 3 for more details).
